Georges Delerue Foundation
The Memorial Scholarship Fund

Shortly after the death of Georges Delerue in 1992, The Georges Delerue Foundation was established at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts.

This private foundation was organized by the young American composer David Spear, a friend of Georges Delerue, with contributions from the producer Bob Rogers of BRC Imagination Arts, Colette Delerue, Dan Carlin of Segue Music, and friends of Georges Delerue in the United States.

Interest from the endowment supports scholarship aid to advanced students particularly interested in musical composition for films. The scholarships are awarded annually. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of musical talent and particular capacities for the demands of film scoring. In 2004, four students benefited from the Georges Delerue Scholarship Fund.

This is the only scholarship available to those students who envisage a career in musical composition for the cinema.
